Wilderness Park-Lincoln, NE

As Lincoln’s largest park, Wilderness Park provides a unique opportunity for the public to enjoy, understand, and appreciate the value of a natural area within an urban setting. With its growing popularity and accessibility, the City of Lincoln recognizes the need to make it more user friendly, accessible, and educational to anyone seeking solace and recreation.

It’s the Nebraska sunrise.

It’s the sound of rushing water.

It’s the golden light through the treetops.

It’s 31 miles of trails to explore.

It’s the preservation of 1,400 acres of wilderness.

It’s the early morning runs.

History of Wilderness Park

Wilderness Park has been protecting the city of Lincoln from flood for years, now it is our turn to protect Wilderness Park.

Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird

We want to make sure that people have a comfortable and safe experience in the Park. Part of that means having understandable signage, safe bridges, and kiosks in the parking lot.

Adam Hintz , President of Friends of Wilderness Park
